SONrise Service Update & Cinnamon Rolls!
Unfortunately, due to the forecasted rain and the lack of a visible sunrise, our SONrise Service at Stars & Stripes Park has been canceled. But don’t worry—the SON has risen, and we’re still celebrating!
Join us at 9:30 AM for our Easter Celebration Service at Metropolitan. Starting at 9:00 AM, come to the Connections Room (Room 120) to enjoy free cinnamon rolls and coffee. The cinnamon rolls were made with love by hopeWORKS, a program of HopeHouse OKC that offers job training and support for women overcoming homelessness and poverty.
Bring your family, invite your friends, and come celebrate the resurrection with us!

Easter at Metropolitan is more than a single day—it’s a week-long journey that invites us to reflect, remember, and rejoice. This sacred season offers powerful moments to gather as a church family, walk through the final days of Jesus’ life, and ultimately celebrate the miracle of the resurrection. Whether you’re new to the story of Easter or you’ve heard it all your life, this week invites all of us into deeper hope and joy.
We begin with Palm Sunday on April 13 at 9:30 am. Through a dramatic monologue from the perspective of the Roman centurion at the cross, we’ll enter Holy Week with powerful storytelling and worship. Families will sit together in this service (no Metro Kids Worship), and Family Groups will follow at 11:00 am. This is a great way to open hearts and minds to the journey ahead.
On Good Friday, April 18 at 6:30 pm, we gather in solemn remembrance of Jesus’ crucifixion. This reflective service will include communion and a message centered on the Seven Last Words of Christ. While childcare is not available, children are welcome to attend with their families for this meaningful time of worship.
Finally, join us back at Metropolitan for our Easter Celebration Service at 9:30 am. We’ll explore the question, “What Does the Resurrection Mean?” as we look at Matthew 27:55–28:15. It’s a service filled with worship, hope, and the good news that Jesus is risen! This will be a special morning for families to worship together, with activity bags available to help kids engage and participate in the service. Metro Kids childcare & Family Groups will resume on April 27.
Easter is a time for renewal, joy, and community. We would love for you to join us throughout Easter Week—and bring someone with you! There’s no better time to invite others into the story of Jesus than now.
